For full research papers and research-in-progress papers: before uploading your revised paper authors were asked to make sure that author information was included as per the paper template instructions at the top of this page. The submission process involved a step where submissions were be converted to pdf format by the submission system: authors were then be able to view this pdf before finishing the submission process. In order to submit a final version of accepted full- or research-in-progress paper(s), the corresponding author who initially submitted the paper was requested to do the following: 1. [Click here to log into Manuscript Central to submit a final version of full paper(s), research-in-progress or panel proposal(s) accepted for publication at ECIS] Both full research papers and research-in-progress papers were limited to 12 pages in length. Each submitted paper was allocated to a specific track. The conference organisers erserved the privilege to switch some papers between tracks if acceptance for publication necessitated it. In order to have papers accepted to the proceedings, at least one author per academic paper must have registered and paid the registration fee for the conference. For panels, all the proposed speakers must have registered. In the case of panels, a four-page summary was submitted. The language of the conference and all submissions was English. Authors could download our author instructions, which was intended to facilitate submissions. Also, there was a Word document template available to facilitate the preparation of submissions: authors were advised that they may use this template for full papers and research-in-progress papers. These documents are available to download at the top of this page. Paper submissions were uploaded via the manuscript central electronic submission system in either Acrobat PDF or Microsoft Word for Windows format. Authors using Endnote could use this Endnote style file (by saving this zip file to your computer, and extracting the style into the computer's Endnote Styles folder). Authors were advised to remove all Endnote field codes prior to submission. Submissions to ECIS 2008 may not have already been published previously in a journal or conference proceedings, nor presented at another conference. Moreover, they may not have been currently under consideration for publication or presentation elsewhere. Any submission that exceeded the length requirements, did not adhere to the required format, or was delivered after the specified submission date, was rejected. All initial paper submissions were evaluated in a double-blind peer review process. Each conference track was chaired by colleagues with research expertise in the respected area, and who are central in the initial track proposals and definition. The track chairs supervised the review process, which involved selecting reviewers from the IS research community. Acceptance and rejection decisions were finalised by the programme committee. Evaluation criteria were those typically used by major journals and first-class conferences, e.g. relevance of the topic and findings, quality (rigour) of the research process and quality of the writing. The results of the review process were communicated to the author(s). The author(s) are responsible for making the revisions recommended by the reviewers, and for submitting the final version of their accepted paper(s) by the appropriate deadline.
